The Open Water weekend starts the Thursday evening before your Dive weekend. You will need to do your pool drysuit orientation we will fit you in the correct drysuit (please bring trackie bottoms and a t-shirt to wear under the suit). These may get damp. The sessions run from 5.30 onwards and takes about 1 hr.
After the session you will sign for all your dive equipment and take it home with you. Please store this in a secure place overnight as it is now your reasonability. PLEASE NOTE, WE DO NOT SUPPLY MASKS AND SNORKELS. These are personal to you and will need to be purchased before the weekend. The rest of the dive kit is included in your weekend.
We stay overnight on the Saturday at the Truckhaven Motel at Carnforth LA5 9RQ. Phone 01524 736699 to book. Please book in your name not Robin Hood. Early booking is recommended as it does get booked up. You only pay when you arrive. A double or twin room is about £45 and a single room £35.

We meet at the Truckhaven at 8 am Saturday Morning. You will be able to get a breakfast if you wish and we will give you your admission vouchers and leave for Capernwray at 8.30 am which is about 10 minutes away.
You will usually do 3 dives on the Saturday and finish about 4.30 we then go to the Pine Lakes Resort, LA6 1JZ, where you can relax have a drink and finish filling your log books in. Whilst at the Pine Lakes we choose from the menu for the evening meal.
We meet at the Pine Lakes for the evening meal at 8pm. Both the service and the food are good and inexpensive. We urge all divers to attend this meal as it is a great opportunity to socialise with other divers and the staff. You can as any questions or chat in a relaxed atmosphere.
Sunday is the same agenda as Saturday morning you have one dive to do to complete the Open Water Course and the opportunity to do another dive and gain the Drysuit Speciality Certification Add On. This is half price and is £75 including materials. The drysuit course also counts towards your Advanced course. If you do this dive we discount your Advance Course by £60 if you want to do your course with Robin Hood. Sunday usually ends early afternoon please ensure you have your log books all complete and signed for before leaving.
Capernwray is one of the county’s leading inland water dive centres and has been running as a dive centre since the early 1980s. It has changing room’s showers and toilet blocks. It also has a dive friendly café a complete with BBQ and viewing veranda.
The lake usually has good visibility and contains many underwater attractions including ship wrecks, airplanes and many other attractions.
As you enter the water you will be greeted by the lakes fish. These are Brown and Rainbow Trout, Roach, Perch and fantastic Sturgeon which grow to about 1 metre and are fantastic to watch.
